About the Location

Field Position:

This position is considered Field based and is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Ideally we are seeking someone who lives in the region which is primarily Texas. Field associates will spend their time both traveling to and spending time in various PetSmart locations and can expect to be asked to travel to Phoenix Home Office periodically throughout the year. Field associates typically work out of their home office when not traveling as outlined above.



About the Job

SUMMARY

The Regional Vice President (RVP) is responsible for the overall direction and guidance of 10-14 District Leaders and upwards of 200 stores within any given region. The RVP's focus is to build and lead high-performing teams, ensure there is clarity and alignment, while delivering value to the company.

This role is located in the US South market. Majority of the market is Texas but also includes stores in MS, OK, and AR. Ideally the candidate would live in the region preferably in Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive consistent execution across multiple districts through setting clear direction and aligning the district and store teams.
  • Drive and exceed sales goals by ensuring consistent strategy execution; determining business-driving opportunities.
  • Delegate effectively and empower others to succeed; challenges others to reach their full potential and encourages them to retain ownership for their results.
  • Attract, develop, inspire and retain top talent through clarity of intent, alignment, recognition and leading at the right level.
  • Demonstrate change agility in an ever-changing retail environment. Adjusts team priorities to meet goals and commitments, ensures continued alignment across the business process, and responds effectively to constantly changing demands.
  • Deliver on profitability goals by setting a competitive retail vision for District Leaders and store leadership.
  • Analyze sales reports and business results and take appropriate action to capitalize on strengths and address deficiencies; partner with merchandising, distribution and District Leaders to implement in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use financial and statistical reporting to improve region performance, budgeted hours and identify risks of loss.
  • Evaluate operations and seeks opportunity to continuously improve processes and service.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of the annual budget, financial forecasts, cost of an hour management, and other business goals. Leads unit management to ensure budgeted sales and profit goals are achieved.
  • Ensure the region focus is on consistently delivering an exceptional, positive in-store customer experience.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Direct leader to 10-14 District Leaders; skip level leader to approx. 200 Store Leaders. Store teams average 25-50 associates.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • The ideal candidate will have the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a four-year college or university is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years related and relevant, multi-store experience as a multi-unit leader in a retail environment.
    • Proven track record leading successful, large teams. Proven leadership identity and communicativeness.
    • High level of professionalism, interpersonal skills, organizing and planning; combined with excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic business sense.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
