About Nutrition Therapy:

Infants, children and teens all have unique nutritional needs as they grow into adulthood. When medical complications exist, adequate growth is still a primary concern. At Cincinnati Children's, patients receive individualized attention from our staff of nutrition professionals to assure that growth and nutritional well-being are sustained.

Our registered dietitians, registered dietetic technicians, certified lactation consultants and support staff have specialized training in pediatric nutrition for normal growth and development and therapeutic needs. Additionally, they practice family-centered care, taking into account the family's community setting and culture and how family members interact with nutrition and health.

About the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU):

Our neonatology program is ranked #1 in the nation in the 2023-24 list of Best Children's Hospitals as published by U.S. News & World Report. The NICU, located on the fourth and first floor of the hospital's new Critical Care Building, is the only one in our region designated as a "Level IV." This means we provide the most advanced care possible for premature and critically ill babies — more than 860 of them every year.

Our NICU is staffed by experienced neonatologists, advanced practice practitioners and many other pediatric specialists, as well as a highly trained, experienced nursing team. The NICU is part of Cincinnati Children's Perinatal Institute, which is internationally recognized for its commitment to improving the life and health of all newborn babies.
