Job Summary:
The Research Associate in the College of Science & Technology's Sbarro Institute under the Biology division will perform research on the role of the tumor suppressor in the RB family of pocket proteins under the supervision of the lead Research Professor. The incumbent will also conduct research aimed at the characterization of progranulin's action in solid tumors. As a Research Assistant, the candidate will also supervise visiting research scholars. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology or any Life Sciences and at least 3 years of directly related experience running and leading cancer research projects. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Essential Functions of Position:
• Conduct the research experiments on the role of the tumor suppressor in the RB family of pocket proteins.
• Makes ongoing revisions to project experiment plans and procedures as needed to pursue project objectives.
• Prepares reports and reviews of research findings and presents/publishes research results.
• Collaborates with the rest of the research team.
