Description

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Research Scientist, leading translational research projects under the mentorship of Professor Chuan He. The He Lab develops novel genome-wide epigenetic and epitranscriptomic mapping technologies with direct translational applications. The Research Scientist will conduct research activities that concerns genetic transformation, growth, and genetic characterization in plants. The individual will drive an experimental program involving the genotyping of transgenic plants and establishing a plant transformation platform. The program will involve genetic crossing of Arabidopsis, rice, maize, and soybean. The term of the appointment will be for up to three years and is expected to start in autumn 2023.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Plant Biology
  • Minimum 3 years of postdoctoral experience
