Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated EHS Engineer with experience in safety and compliance associated with R&D and manufacturing of automation and robotic technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of regulations that govern Environmental, Health and Safety. They will also have strong understanding and experience in Machine Safety and related industry standards.

The candidate will collaborate with product, manufacturing and deployment teams to develop and execute risk mitigations plans and support the scaling of deployments into production. The position also collaborates with 3P suppliers and general contractors throughout projects to ensure compliance to the appropriate regulations, industry standards and Amazon policies.

Key job responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the EHS Engineer are as follows:

1.\tPerform safety risk assessments during all phases of a project.

2.\tCollaborate on product development, manufacturing and deployment activities with engineering, facilities, site safety, deployment teams, operations teams, suppliers, and contractors.

3.\tDevelop comprehensive safety protocols and procedures for installation and testing of robotics equipment in various labs and manufacturing environment.

4.\tDevelop safety inspections, audits and training content as needed for new processes, equipment and projects.

5.\tConduct inspections, audits and training

6.\tValidate 3P suppliers and contractor credentials to ensure they are certified/trained/competent to perform the required work and review their safety risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHA).

7.\tAdvises site safety, engineering and operations teams on safety regulations and regulatory compliance concerns relating to field environment and construction safety.

8.\tAbility to travel up to 30% to multiple sites in various regions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4 year BS degree in safety or safety related field.

- Safety certification such as ASP, CSP, etc.

- Minimum of 2 years of safety related work experience

- Strong skill in computer platforms including Microsoft Office, Asana,

- Experience using safety related computer platforms such as Gensuite, MSDSOnline, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MS degree in safety or safety related field.

- Experience managing project related work.

- Providing direction to 3PA's.
