POSITION SUMMARY

The Safety Specialist Intern will assist and collaborate with the Safety Department in producing and coordinating health and safety programs which ensure a safe workplace and promote awareness throughout the workforce. The individual in this position must understand and be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Responsibilities include:
  • Execute health and safety plans/programs in accordance with all federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations including Company policies
  • Promote safe work practices
  • Assist in the incident investigation process and root cause analysis
  • Assess and communicate potential safety hazards
  • Collaborate with Safety Department on various programs and policies
  • Other tasks as assigned
This position is full-time, temporary. It can be a fast-paced environment, may require extended hours, and travel is required.

Position Requirements
  • College courses in the Health and Safety field preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
