POSITION SUMMARY
The Safety Specialist Intern will assist and collaborate with the Safety Department in producing and coordinating health and safety programs which ensure a safe workplace and promote awareness throughout the workforce. The individual in this position must understand and be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Responsibilities include:

We prioritize the safety and wellness of our road construction processes by following the Company's safety programs and policies, thus mitigating risk and improving overall productivity of the project with safety at the forefront.

The individual in this position must understand and be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Responsibilities include:
- Execute health and safety plans/programs in accordance with all federal, state, and local safety laws and regulations including Company policies
- Promote safe work practices
- Assist in the incident investigation process and root cause analysis
- Assess and communicate potential safety hazards
- Collaborate with Safety Department on various programs and policies
- Other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements
- College courses in the Health and Safety field preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
