Position Summary:

The Researcher is needed at OPQR in St. Louis to develop analytical methods using high resolution, multi-attribute microscopy/spectroscopy techniques for characterization of pharmaceutical products, to ensure quality during various stages of drug development, support and promote advanced manufacturing, and strengthen the supply chain via domestic manufacturing. The researcher will be responsible for documenting the studies and reporting to management according to the quality management procedures in the laboratory. This may include development of work instructions, standard operating procedures, technical reports, study protocols and presentations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work at OPQR to develop methods for characterization of complex drugs and dosage forms. Specific projects are those where modern process analytical technologies are used to probe transdermal and inhalation drugs as well as other dosage forms.
  • Use methods developed at OPQR for these instruments to test complex drug products that are destined for US supply chain.
  • Survey the quality of drugs and drug ingredients to help assess the quality of the supply chain


Minimum Requirements:

Education:

Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related field. 6+(MS) or 2+(PhD) years of relevant experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

Experience:

Extensive knowledge of in vitro and in vivo study design and methodology. Practical experience in modern dissolution technologies including modeling considerations.

Experience with the overall management and conduct of studies including budgeting and project management.
