Are you interested in contributing to conserving California's biodiversity through the implementation and update of an important statewide plan? Come join CDFW's Science Institute as State Wildlife Action Plan Coordinator. The State Wildlife Action Plan (https://wildlife.ca.gov/SWAP) prescribes actions to conserve wildlife and vital habitat before they become more rare and more costly to protect. The plan also promotes wildlife conservation while furthering responsible development and addressing the needs of a growing human population.

Under general direction of a Senior Environmental Scientist Supervisor, this position will coordinate the 10-year update to the State Wildlife Action Plan. This position will collaborate within the Department and with outside organizations to review and develop content for the 2025 plan update, which will secure grant funding for conserving our unique biodiversity over the next ten years. We are seeking applicants with strong communication and planning skills who can build effective working relationships with a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders.

This position is a 12 month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Working Conditions
Office work involves sitting most of the time and the use of a computer and standard office equipment. Occasional travel may be required. Staff may have to travel for meetings, workshops, and listening sessions. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and be prepared to travel using a state vehicle with a valid driver's license.
