Summary:
Applies specialized knowledge of human development behaviors, and social economic and cultural systems in directly assisting individuals, families and groups in assigned areas to improve or restore their capacity for social functioning including counseling and use of psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy.

Formal Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work
  • Current Ohio LSW
Experience & Training Required
  • Six (6) months experience related to vacant position

  • Ability to work well in team environment by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members while being self directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure and can take/give direction/supervision
  • Ability to understand and carry out the vision of patient care at Summa
  • Ability to take initiative to contribute beyond the scope of formal duties (i.e., suggesting innovative ideas and providing feedback on a team's direction)
  • Demonstrate flexibility/adaptability in an environment of rapidly changing reimbursement and managed care targets
  • Ability to communicate verbally and through documentation while maintaining customer confidentiality
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to maintain objectivity in regard to patients/family unit, the department, the hospital and the community
  • Ability to teach/reinforce home going instruction in relation to disease process
  • Working knowledge of case management process
  • Population Specific Competency: ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

$25.29/hr - $37.94/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
