Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Project Engineer to join one of their largest utility clients in Spring Valley, NY. This individual will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing all activities for the engineering, design, procurement and construction of capital and O&M projects within transmission and substation engineering. They will be preparing white papers, obtaining capital rulings, developing project budgets, and preparing appropriations. This person will also be responsible for providing technical reviews of specifications such as drawings, contracts, addendums and other construction related documents to ensure constructability and compliance with the company specifications.

This Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining project schedules and financial timelines by providing updates on the projects engineering, construction and budget statuses. They will be utilizing MS Project and other financial/project management tools. They should be comfortable working closely with working closely with manufacturers, contractors, and suppliers relative to their proposals, project performance, specification of materials, and processing of invoices for payment in accordance with their performance under contract. The project scheduler should be able to maintain a strong field presence by monitoring construction activities and coordinating activities of field personnel with contractors and/or other departments.

They will be tracking accounts payable and project expenses utilizing Oracle BI-Business Intelligence Application. Collaborate with the Real Estate Department to acquire property and easement rights for substation and transmission projects and attend department meetings as required. This individual will also be responsible for participating in the Company's Emergency Response Plan through a designated storm assignment.

Required Skills & Experience

* 7-10 years of related experience in engineering design, construction management, project engineering or project management SPECIFIC to transmission and substation projects

* Bachelors Degree in a technical or engineering related field

* Experience in the following areas: purchasing, scheduling, quality assurance, cost control, Environmental, Health & Safety requirements

* Detailed knowledge of specifications, drawings, contract documents, prints and diagrams.

* Must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines -- STRONG communication skills and has the ability to interact internally with support staff and management, as well as clients.

* Proficiency Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project) AND Oracle BI-Business Intelligence Application

* Drivers License is Required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Bachelors Degree is Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

* Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred

* Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
