Job Summary

You will be our go-to person for applying scrum to produce high-quality work. Scrum Master duties include driving our scrum framework, resolving problems and coaching team members on Agile methodologies. You should have excellent knowledge of the scrum framework, with all its artifacts and techniques. You'll also need the ability to coordinate people and projects (occasionally facilitating changes) with your mind set on deliverables. If you're a strong communicator, a capable leader and you're invested in Agile frameworks, we'd like to meet you.

Roles & Responsibilities

Build and maintain a strong framework of Agile practices, processes, and artifacts,

Support and coach our Scrum teams through all agile scrum events and practices to enable the teams in their delivery and execution of business value.

Define, maintain and update the Scrum team's metrics and artifacts to ensure accurate and transparent communications to the stakeholders and across the teams.

Work closely with Product Owners to assist with the backlog's health assessment and enrichment.

Encourage Agile behaviors, reinforcing practices, norms, ceremonies, and supporting the overall Scrum Team performance and effectiveness,

Drive a collaborative and supportive team culture through team building and engagement practices,

Adapt our structures to client's agile frameworks (e.g. SAFe) and ensure compatibility.

Cultivate strong inter- and intra-departmental relationships and promote a positive, execution-focused work environment.

Guide development teams as well as leadership to higher scrum maturity.

Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it

Enable the organization to scale while applying agile principles.

Requirements and skills

Working on agile scrum development teams for 10+ years in a dedicated role as Scrum Master

Experience and practice of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.

Excellent knowledge of Agile techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement)

Solid Jira and Confluence Experience

Certified Scrum Master (CSM or alike) and/or SAFe certified

Experience with and/or understanding of techniques such as Behavior Driven Development, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, and Automated Testing is a plus

Good knowledge of other Agile frameworks (SAFe, XP, etc.)

Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field

Work Authorization

Compensation: -This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
