Description

The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will be working within the Accounting Department to oversee the company's financial operations. The Staff Accountant will manage the day-to-day accounting operations of the accounting department including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash flow, revenue, and expenditure variance analysis.

Essential Functions

• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly closing processes.
• Performing general bookkeeping and organizing financial forms, documents, and receipts.
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and oversee fixed assets and record depreciation.
• Support creation of Sales tax returns (State & Local) through creation of schedules and reconciliations required primary responsibility for preparation of tax reporting package.
• Identify and implement initiatives for efficiencies in processes.
• Other special projects as needed.
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.

• Experience with companies operating in multiple states
• Understanding of accounting procedures, laws, taxes, and best practices
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of experience in a Staff Accounting role required
• CPA license is preferred and a plus
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system required
• High proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook
