Job Summary:

Our Gardener, Denver, Nash Division of Ingersoll Rand in Charleroi, PA is looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team! The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for providing support to Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Marketing and Field Service relating to quality assurance functions. The main function of the Quality Control Engineer is to aid in analysis and development of processes and procedures that focus quality development.

Accountable for assigned contracts which will include typical Quality functions such as quality plan development, clipboard generation, documentation support and contract follow-up.

As the technical expert on quality issues, the individual will interface with suppliers supporting these processes related to material, manufacturing and engineering activities to support cost, quality and cycle objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret Design Engineering data (including blueprints, Bills of Material, Specs) and any customer requirements.
  • Define quality plans that may be required for manufacturing, sourcing or customer contracts.
  • Research and document quality improvements, cost-effective methods and process improvements.
  • Provide daily technical support to the total organization through the disposition of Quality Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and solving of shop floor problems with the primary focus on identification of root causes and correction of the process.
  • Lead Material review Board activities.
  • Corrective/preventive actions on internal and customer related issues.
  • Develop procedures, work instructions and forms necessary to comply with the quality system.
  • Lead internal /external audits, source inspections, etc as necessary in observance of the quality system requirements or in evaluation of suppliers and their products.
  • Investigate and implement special project assignments involving productivity and quality improvements relating to his/her specific areas.
  • Supports engineering and quality managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues.
  • Facilitate cross-functional failure mode root cause investigations and corrective/ preventive actions.
  • Analyze reports and returned products and take corrective measures.
  • Assist in training of new procedures and document the same. Maintain quality records.
  • Generate contract data packages as specified by contract requirements.
  • Statistically track non-conformance in specific process areas.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in MS office applications
  • Experience and understanding of Design Engineering data (including blueprints, Bills of Material, Specs) and any customer requirements
  • Technical knowledge of the basics of manufacturing, engineering and quality assurance is required
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) in interpretation of blueprint requirements is required.
  • Internal and external Auditing experience is preferred
  • Work Experience on large bore reciprocating engines and Compressors is preferred
  • ASQC certification as quality engineer is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP R3 is preferred


Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical) is preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder
