Our Product Integrity team takes responsibility for Formlabs product field performance and reliability. Data is at the core of our business, providing insights into product quality and driving decision making. We analyze data from the field and implement improvements to hardware design, manufacturing process, and software. Our team collaborates across many functions and geographic regions to enhance user experience and fix product issues. The Sustaining Mechanical Engineer Job:
  • Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis of mechanical subsystems utilizing structured problem solving methodologies
  • Design, implement and validate product changes to solve problems using a data driven approach
  • Work with the Manufacturing teams to create processes, tests, and procedures to improve machine reliability and manufacturing efficiency
  • Become an expert in Formlabs' 3D printing technology, and collaborate with design teams on risk assessment, design reviews, corrective actions and validation testing
You:
  • Have exposure to hardware debugging and are passionate about understanding why things work (or don't)
  • Can prototype and run your own tests, from experimental design to practical hands on implementation
  • Have experience designing or debugging complex electromechanical systems
  • Are comfortable diving into complex electromechanical systems and learning the about multiple disciplines of engineering - mechanical, electrical and beyond
Bonus Skills:
  • Scripting ability, including python, SQL, bash, and related data analysis tools
  • Prior experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, quality control, or integration engineering
  • Previous experience with Lean, Six Sigma, 8D or other structured problem solving methodologies
  • Experience using statistical models to draw conclusions
