  • Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently seeking a Systems Administrator 4 to join our team.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    A versatile IT professional to aid the operations center in various tasks crucial for ongoing projects and development initiatives. The selected individual will work the standard 8:00 am to 5:00 pm shift, with additional support for after-hours and weekend activities as needed to meet project deadlines.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The contractor should possess proven expertise and proficiency in the following domains:
    • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server, encompassing installation, maintenance, and support.
    • Minimum three (3) years of practical involvement with IBM DB2 database, spanning installation, maintenance, and support.
    • Minimum three (3) years of active engagement in maintaining and supporting IBM FileNet systems.
    • Minimum three (3) years of adept management and maintenance of IBM Datacap, including Task Master, Rule Runner, and relevant IIS components.
    • Minimum three (3) years of proficiency in command line environments such as bash and ksh, as well as scripting.
    • Familiar with other IBM/WebSphere products.
    • Experience with Perforce Helix Core.
    • Knowledgeable with CA Workload Automation.


    SCOPE OF WORK

    • Supporting system administrators in applying patches and upgrading middleware components within the environment, covering WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, FileNet, and DB2, among others.
    • Providing assistance in FileNet suite management, cleanup tasks, and the implementation of FileNet security policies, especially concerning the scanning of sensitive documents.
    • Offering support to vendor personnel engaged in project activities, including configuration tasks related to the WebSphere product line, conducting log reviews, troubleshooting assistance, and performing service and/or server restarts as necessary.


    DELIVERABLES

    The contractors must have the skillset to provide the following for each project or activity they will be assigned to do:

    • System Documentation: The chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting the system and database administrators with creating and maintaining system documentation for active projects, systems, databases, and development efforts already in progress.
    • System Administration: The chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting the system administrators with various tasks including but not limited to installing middleware and applying fix packs. The chosen candidate will also be responsible for assisting with monitoring application servers, web servers, file servers, content repositories, and various middleware.
    • Database Administration: The chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting DBAs with various tasks including but not limited to creating, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing existing databases.
    • Performance Tuning: The chosen candidate will be responsible for, in whole or in part, ensuring that systems and databases are performing optimally. Duties may include monitoring system and database performance using company-provided tools, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve performance.
    • Training and Support: The chosen candidate will be responsible for assisting staff by creating training materials, conducting training sessions and providing ongoing support to junior system administrators and DBAs in areas of expertise where skill gaps exist and align with the candidate's experience.
    • Weekly Work activity Log: The chosen candidate will be required to keep a weekly work log of activities performed by the contractor throughout the engagement. Weekly status meetings will be held to review the work activity log, accomplishments, challenges, and goals.
