Job Summary: The Systems Analyst I plans and configures low-complexity software systems to support the administrative function of the University under close supervision. This may include departmental and moderately critical applications. Assists in the development of processes. Creates workflows. Installs, configures, supports, and maintains integrations for vendor-supplied software systems. Works on a team and collaborates with specific departments, colleges, and customers around campus. Supports their needs, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and responding to their questions and concerns in a timely manner.
Additional Department Summary: The Systems Analyst I provides comprehensive IT support for the College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS). Interacts with all levels of users throughout the organization to assist in identifying and developing IT solutions that are efficient and focused for the practice(s) or department(s) involved. Works with all Health Informatics/UA OIT team members in developing solutions that are cost-effective, efficient, and secure. Travels to provide on-site IT support all CCHS clinical sites as needed.

Provides software support. Answers questions concerning applications used throughout CCHS, to include but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, clinical applications, and research applications. Responsible for maintaining application updates and virus scans. Assists and resolves end user questions and issues via email and in-person. Works the Health Informatics Help Desk as needed; and routes issues to the appropriate support staff and initiates tickets with UA Office of Information Technology as needed.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of IT experience; OR High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of IT experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Four (4) years of IT intermediate support experience to include hardware/software support - configuration, maintenance, and documentation of databases, interfaces, servers, computers, security and network monitor systems, packaged programs, and utilities.

Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Skill in organizing work to achieve department goals and objectives. Aptitude and commitment to continued learning; willingness to obtain additional certifications as new systems or applications are implemented.

Ability to cope with stressful conditions. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation and directional initiative. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making. Strong oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of standard office software applications, including Microsoft Office. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of protected information and the requirement to follow HIPPA regulations at all times.
Preferred Qualifications: A+ certification preferred. Previous experience with electronic health records systems and patient care applications preferred. Previous experience providing IT support for a healthcare/ambulatory multi-specialty medical facility preferred. Knowledge/practical experience of Windows and Mac OSX preferred.
