A prestigious accounting firm based in San Antonio, TX is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their award-winning team! In this position, you will have a key role in providing exceptional white glove service to high-end clients by overseeing the review and preparation of tax returns for individuals, trusts, S-Corps, C-Corps, and LLCs. This position requires at least 6 years of public accounting/tax experience, with a strong focus on tax return review and CPA licensure.

Tax Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • 6-8+ years in public accounting with substantial tax review experience
  • Proficiency in handling complex tax returns beyond basic 1040s
  • Technologically adept with basic proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups)
  • Experience with CCH Suite, QuickBooks (Online & Desktop) preferred
  • Strong familiarity with CCH Suite (Engagement module) is preferred

Tax Manager Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, prepare tax returns, and review tax return preparations, mainly for individual & trust returns and corporate entities like S-Corps, C-Corps, and LLCs
  • Conduct daily meetings to set the focus for the day and ensure the team is aligned with their tasks and goals
  • Manage a team of 4-5 tax staff, providing training and guidance to improve their efficiency and understanding of complex tax issues
  • Maintain oversight of team goals, utilizing a flexible approach to billable hours that prioritizes outcomes and team awareness of their performance metrics
  • Handle immediate responsibilities effectively, requiring the capability to review returns upon joining
