JOB DESCRIPTION

The Institute for Social Research and Data Innovation (ISRDI) is seeking an Events & Admin Assistant Intern to support our administrative team with programs and events related to our 2024 Summer Diversity Fellowship, external research networks, and our DEI Engagement Sub-Committee.

In Summer 2024 we will kick off our 10th Diversity Fellowship Cohort and host our 4th annual conference for our external research networks; we are looking for a Step Up Intern who is interested in a career in communications, human resources, event planning, or diversity, equity and inclusion work, to assist with these programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Assist Diversity Fellowship Team by setting up for meetings and other events, taking meeting notes as needed, capturing event photos
  • Assist conference team with managing conference registrations, preparing conference and workshop participant materials, and provide event support during the conference
  • Coordinate catering orders for events throughout the summer
  • Take photos of ISRDI at events
  • Attend all professional development events
  • Work with staff to create and submit End of Summer project
  • Work with staff to design and compose professional correspondence
  • Use template graphics to create outreach materials for social media
  • Assist in other Human Resources and administrative functions and activities as requested and conduct special projects as required.
  • Fill-in at front desk for breaks and days off


Work Location: ISRDI is located at 50 Willey Hall, 225 19th Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55455

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Enrolled in Achieve Minneapolis Step Up Program
  • Matched up with Step Up Employer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Strong attention to detail
