Schedule: Full Time/Day (3 12's working every other Weekends)

The role you'll contribute:

Practices in accordance with philosophy, policies, procedures and standards of AdventHealth for Children; functions within the guidelines of the protocols for the Transport program that are reviewed and agreed upon by the Neonatal and Pediatric Medical Director and Transport Manager. Identifies, plans, implements and evaluates emergency care for acutely ill neonatal and pediatric patients in collaboration with the Medical team for the receiving neonatal or pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Provides family-centered care, including psychosocial support, education, and transfer planning in conjunction with referral staff. Maintains effective communication with referral staff and families. Participates in educating staff from referring facilities through informal teaching and planned educational classes and/or conferences. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you'll bring to the team:
  • Successfully completes appropriate transport training regimen as directed by the Departments of Flight Medicine and/or Respiratory Care. Completes the requisite number of supervised orientation transports. Utilizes Medivac-Aircraft/Vehicular Dynamics.
  • Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include conventional and non-conventional modes of ventilation and transport ventilation. Reviews chest radiological reports as necessary per supervisor and policy and procedures.
  • Properly performs hemodynamic procedures including: arterial cannulation, assembly, calibration and maintenance; assisting with central venous pressure ( CVP)/pulmonary artery catheter insertion, calibration and maintenance and performing cardiac output and hemodynamic/cardiopulmonary profiles.
  • Delivers neonatal resuscitation and assists with APGAR scoring at delivery per NRP guidelines. Performs artificial surfactant replacement. Maintains proper equipment in labor/delivery/perinatal/ pediatric areas.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• Minimum of one year of pediatric critical care experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

• Current valid State of Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification

• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

• Pediatric back-up team members will maintain the above requirements
