Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Media and Creative Agency committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while also delivering leading customer experiences. Within this agency, our Paid Media Team is focused on achieving growth by making data-driven decisions to create meaningful interactions with existing and potential customers. We are seeking a VP, Partnerships and Business Operations to serve as the lead for key external partners, defining precise joint business plans against our Marketing objectives. This role will lead a team of business operations leaders working to unlock partner capabilities while supporting channel teams in delivering results.

Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Serve as lead point of contact and develop joint business plans with external media and ad-tech partners in alignment with in-house agency's goals
  • Monitor, track and manage tech partners capabilities to drive continuous performance in collaboration with relevant marketing stakeholders
  • Works with agency team to drive further adoption of tools and develop enterprise use cases
  • Responsible for understanding the ad tech market and new and/or competitive product options
  • Document and report partner issues as they occur and communicate with clear escalation points as required
  • Oversee governance of external suppliers/partners to ensure adherence to Synchrony guidelines
  • Jointly responsible for any matters related to partner fees, costs, budget planning and tracking
  • Contribute to cost reduction goals via negotiation and efficiencies driven by tech partner capabilities
  • Influence and align senior stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of degree, HS Diploma/GED and 12 years of marketing experience including digital marketing and media.
  • 8+ years of marketing experience with in-depth expertise in ad tech including managing third party vendors.
  • 4+ years of people leadership experience in the areas of digital marketing and media (SEM, Display and/or Programmatic Media)
  • Experience with LiveRamp, Google Marketing Platform, DSPs and/or DoubleVerify
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending/implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Experience managing complex budgets
  • Ability to translate marketing strategies into capability requirements

Desired Characteristics
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience in financial services, retail or healthcare
  • 5+ years of experience in managing vendor relationships
  • Commercially focused, understanding the impact that ad tech can have on business goals
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varying levels of understanding of ad tech capabilities
  • Demonstrates a structured and methodical way of working, with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • A self-motivated individual who is able to operate autonomously and take control when required

Grade/Level: 13

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
