Role Summary/Purpose:

The Synchrony VP, CD & Sales Governance Promo Oversight Leader is responsible for the promo governance and oversight activities inclusive of the promo request, setup and build process. Additionally supporting the client eco-system and sales platforms as a subject matter expert in promotional credit space. The role will own the Promo Request, Setup and Build L3 and accompanying governance processes, lead the Deferred Interest Promo Control Enhancement governance and supporting initiatives. The VP, CD & Sales Governance Promo Oversight Leader will lead and drive enhancements to the Advance Promo Disclosure oversight and strategy, oversight process for new promo clients and deliver additional governance initiatives in the promo space. This role will also be accountable as the process owner for the completeness and accuracy of our applicable promo risk assessments, ensuring risks and controls are well-documented and executed. This includes developing key performance indicators, aggregating data from identified control processes and driving process improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Process Owner for the Promo Request, Setup and Build L3. Lead L3 related projects as applicable, identify compliance and operational risks and ensure key controls are in place to mitigate risk. Address control gaps, manage and own issues and remediation approvals related to the L3
  • Lead the Deferred Interest Promo Control Enhancement initiative sustainability processes, related projects, reporting activities and proactively drive process improvements.
  • Drive the Advance Promo Disclosure (APD) oversight and strategy, owning the procedure, business requirements and variations tracking.
  • Lead and deliver process enhancements for related promo governance and oversight
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance in providing consultative direction on new APD builds
  • Drive Promo Request, Setup and Build Process Oversight. Develop and track key performance indicators, identify trends, drive automation, simplification and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead promo request, setup and build governance process improvement initiatives as applicable.
  • Partner with the Client Oversight team on performance of applicable KCA's.
  • Partner with the NCI Team, client integrations and/or Client eco-system team to build-out oversight processes for new client promo offerings.
  • Subject Matter expert on critical SYF initiatives inclusive of the promotional credit space as well as Client eco-system support for the promo architect and builds.
  • Provide program management support to applicable teams in response to Regulatory, Risk, and Audit-related and RCSA program requests and deliverables.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience working in Client Development & Sales, Risk Management, Audit, or related areas
  • 5+ years' experience and expertise working in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • 3+ years demonstrated cross-functional project management and governance focused business process activities
  • 3+ years' demonstrated strong analytic, business presentation and people influencing skills in a large client focused organization
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in delivering both verbal and written process performance results to senior leaders

Desired Characteristics:
  • Knowledge of promotional financing product
  • Advanced knowledge of Client Development & Sales objectives, strategies, processes and controls
  • Deep, up-to-date knowledge of regulatory compliance in the financial services sector to drive improvements
  • Attention to detail and follow-up skills essential
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects, organize workflow, and prioritize work assignments

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • N ew hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
