About the Team:

Medidata's Patient Cloud provides industry-leading patient, site, and sponsor centric tools that break the transactional nature of patient engagement for clinical trials and builds an end to end patient experience. We build and enable the next generation of patient and site clinical technologies, unified with Medidata's core drug development platform, to deliver exceptional experience and greater success. As Vice President, you will bring the leadership and industry knowledge required to build the product strategy and guide execution for Patient Cloud. You will report directly to the Head of Patient Cloud as the most senior Product Manager on the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the product leader to develop integrated product strategy for Patient Cloud solutions based on market intelligence, customer needs, and differentiation targeting the next wave of growth
  • Lead a team of product managers who oversee individual product strategies and roadmaps within Patient Cloud. You'll drive alignment with the program level strategy and objectives, balancing short and long term priorities against business needs.
  • Partner closely with Patient Cloud Engineering leadership to establish execution plans and timelines that align with product strategy. Help manage the development, trade-offs, and validation efforts needed to meet those needs.
  • Identify and (co)create wraparound and supporting services with the Patient Cloud Professional Services team that enable clients to achieve their goals utilizing Patient Cloud technologies.
  • Work directly with customers to provide messages around our solutions, understand needs, test strategies and roadmaps, and collect feedback
  • Serve as a voice for Patient Cloud in customer meetings, conferences, and other public events
  • Manage P&L for product solutions and manage to topline and bottom line targets. Work with Patient Cloud leadership to define resource requirements and make prioritization decisions.
  • Work in partnership with sales leadership and solution specialists to ensure alignment of product and commercial strategy and success, both short and long term.
  • Oversee the General Availability process for new releases by coordinating with other groups within Medidata, such as IT, Training and Professional Services
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years experience in software product management and/or systems delivery, including exposure to systems that support clinical research with patient facing components
  • Experience building a scaled, successful SaaS product business
  • At least 10 years of experience in the full scope of product management (i.e., developing product outlook and roadmap, engaging with customers and driving development, coordinating launches, and ensuring post-launch success).
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams with direct and matrixed influence, including software development, software quality, software service, and commercial teams.
  • BS or higher preferably in marketing, business, information systems or life sciences. Additional advanced degrees are considered a plus.
  • At least 10 years management experience.
  • Experience presenting at industry trade shows.
Medidata follows a hybrid office policy in which employees who are hired for an in-person role are expected to work on site a certain number of days per week (with the specific in-office days to be designated by your team.) On July 8, 2024, such employees will be expected to work on site at least 2 days per week. This will increase to at least 3 days per week beginning January 2, 2025.

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $216,000 to $288,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $227,250 to $303,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $189,750 to $253,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $212,250 to $283,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $193,500 to $258,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
