• Thirteen or more years of experience as a project and/or program manager on complex projects involving multi-entity project teams.
• Substitutions: A Bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience. A master's degree may substitute for an additional year of experience; Ph.D. may substitute for an additional two years of experience.
• Four or more years of experience must have been at a managerial level.

Duties Description Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Technology Officer, the WCB OnBoard Project Director will oversee the implementation of the Board's digital modernization initiative.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Serve as the ITS OnBoard Program officer responsible for the implementation of all projects within the OnBoard program modernization rollout.

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership of the ITS OnBoard program team, ensuring ITS as the Board's system's integrator is successful in the design, development, and implementation of the WCB's new OnBoard system, on-time and on-budget.

• Provide oversight and support of the ITS teams responsible for the critical legacy data conversion and data migration initiatives that will run in parallel with the new OnBoard system development.

• Provide oversight and support of the ITS Dev Ops teams that will be responsible for building out the numerous technical build/test environments required for the OnBoard projects.

• Establish strong business relationships with the Microsoft Azure team that supports NYS agencies, facilitating strategic planning of the cloud platform as well as ensuring timely issue resolution when problems arise.

• Work closely with ITS WCB Business Solution managers that are responsible for the WCB's current operational systems, ensuring all systems remain stable and supported throughout the OnBoard program.

• Play a lead role in formulating implementation cut-over strategies, including the logistical steps necessary to successfully sunset legacy systems being replaced by OnBoard.

• Provide oversight and management of the large pool of OnBoard program ITS technical contract staff procured via the hourly based staff augmentation RFP contract, including business relationship management with the three vendors.

• Manage the relationship between the WCB's project team and ITS; ensuring business requirements, as defined, are addressed within the established technical solutions.

• Work closely with WCB OnBoard program management and program sponsors, establishing clear channels of communication to effectively provide ITS program status updates, including program issues, risks, and mitigation strategies.

• Perform a full range of supervisory duties.

Additional Comments Salary will be commensurate with experience.
