Job Description:

As a member of the facilities team, you have the primary responsibility of supporting the distribution center operations within the realm of environmental safety, preventative maintenance and repair, and general upkeep of the building. The Facilities Maintenance Technician must be an individual who is self-driven and determined to help others. An understanding of basic low-voltage, general repairs, painting, mounting miscellaneous items, as well as, general upkeep, warehouse repairs, and cleanliness are required. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be proficient and knowledgeable in the use of basic hand tools, painting processes, safety procedures, and custodial responsibilities.

The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
  • Work in a safe and professional manner always, keeping the safety of oneself and others as their highest priority.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checklist for routine repairs that follow general maintenance procedures.
  • Basic maintenance tasks as needed to address damages or wear, to include repairs to office interior, workstation furniture, warehouse equipment or painting.
  • Assist with replacing or repairing the warehouse racking in cooperation with the facilities maintenance technicians.
  • Understand and follow lock-out/tag-out policies in all applicable maintenance related actions.
  • Observe "clean as you go" policies and assist in maintaining 5s standards throughout the warehouse.
  • Promote the general safety of the warehouse, and report safety concerns or violations of policy.
  • Assist with general maintenance repairs as assigned to you by leadership.
  • Maintain inventory of all company tools and supplies used and store in a clean and organized manner.
  • MHE-Perform PM's and repairs on:
  • Powered Industrial Truck equipment
  • Wire Guidance System
  • Yard Truck
  • Floor Sweepers
  • Batteries/Chargers
  • OBM-Perform PM's and repairs on:
  • Conveyor System & Packaging Equipment (Spark CVP Impack V6, Banders, etc.)
  • HVAC & Lighting systems
  • Cubiscans, Scales, Pallet Wrappers, Void Fill machines, etc.
  • Fire & Security Systems
  • Any and all other building assets as required


Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.


Skills/Abilities/Physical Demands:
  • Previous experience in the Electrical, Mechanical or HVAC fields preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions are required.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and/or powered lift equipment is a plus.
  • Trained awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions is required.
  • Skilled in the use of basic hand tools, powered industrial tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work at elevations of up to 50'.
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 150lbs and lift and carry up to 50-75lb.
  • Must be able to constantly bend, reach, and stand throughout the shift.
  • Must have regular and predictable on-site attendance.
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
