1st Shift-Shipping/Receiving

Staffing Inc. is partnered with a great marker-leading company in the manufacturing of articulated drives for vehicle and mechanical engineering in South Haven, MI who is looking for a sharp individual for Shipping/Receiving career. In this challenging role, team members will be asked to pick various parts and/or assemblies for shipping as per work instructions. Team members are also able to rotate through all of the packaging process and contribute towards the common goal of completing orders on time with 100% accuracy and safety. Attention to detail is very important in this role.

Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities:

Process Pick Tickets:

• Draw parts from inventory to be shipped according to transfers and picking tickets prepared by the shipping/ receiving departments. Assist team members in picking and verifying orders with 100% accuracy.

Packaging:

Determine the shipping method and packaging of parts and assemblies in accordance to shipping instructions and special requirements of customers. If the package or assemblies have a unique shape or size, it may be required to custom build a container or crate.

Process of Shipments

Analyze picking tickets for national and/or international transport. Enter appropriate data for shipment, attach labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information. Run end of day reports and file paperwork appropriately.

Forklift Operations:

Operate powered industrial lift trucks to load and unload truck deliveries and shipments. Move inventory to and from shelfing and shipping areas. Deliver inventory and assemblies to the shipping and receiving areas in a safe and timely manner.

Open Orders Reports:

Study the open orders report to determine the package requirements for the next day deliveries. Efficiently stack and store packages and assemblies as per work instructions in the appropriate areas.

Cleaning/Maintenance:

Perform simple maintenance work/cleaning in shipping and receiving area as per instructions.

Safety

Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Shipping/Receiving Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Hi-Lo Driver experience
• Shipping/Warehouse background preferred
• Responsible Decision Making
• Safety Conscious
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis as a repetitive task.
• Ability to work independently.
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Reliable and punctual
