Position Summary:

Building upon level two, with little or no assistance level three machinists operate 2-5 axis CNC machines and conventional mills and lathes to produce complex aerospace parts demonstrating advanced cross training flexibility, including first part run and full machine recovery. Level three machinists are able to complete complex setups on 2-5 axis machines, apply advanced blue print and GD&T reading to complex production inspection processes. Level three machinists will also be able to edit programs and write simple programs to make tooling. Level three machinist competencies includes trouble shooting complex parts. Typically 4-6 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operate and set up CNC or conventional mills and lathes
  • Inspect produced components per blueprint using standard inspection techniques
  • Load/unload parts in provided work holding method per setup
  • Replace broken cutting tools/inserts as needed
  • Complete work order documentation in accordance with AS9100 quality standards
  • Load and check CNC program
  • Establish work and tooling offset information
  • Training of other employees on operation and set up of CNC machines
  • Light Maintenance Duty of equipment

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer use. Applicant should be familiar with CNC machining methods.

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Frequently work near heavy machinery or equipment
  • Demands of a manufacturing environment

Required Experience:

4 year minimum experience in aerospace/automotive machining or related industry. Strong knowledge with Fanuc, Haas, CELOS controllers. Preferred certifications in CNC operations. Background knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.

Level of Education:

High school diploma/GED equivalent required. .

For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter .
