Applicants must have a Ph.D. in data science, analytics, statistics, computer science, or a related discipline by the time of appointment.

Position Summary

The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator for our online master's degree program in applied data science, starting July 1, 2025. This is a 12-month full time non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Academic Professional. This is a middle tier position in the academic professional faculty line. Responsibilities for the position will be split evenly between instruction (including course development) and program management. The successful applicant will teach online courses in applied data science and, during the first two years of the appointment, will be expected to develop courses for the online applied data science curriculum. In addition, the Program Coordinator will participate in admissions, student advising, and work with the UGA Office of Online Learning, course instructors, and Department of Statistics leadership to ensure the smooth operations of the degree program.

The position includes expectations to participate in departmental and institutional service activities, and to maintain a program of professional development and scholarly engagement with the academic community beyond the University of Georgia.
