What You'll Do

We are building cloud-based tax compliance solutions to handle every transaction in the world. Imagine every transaction you make - every tank of gas, cup of coffee, or pair of sneakers, every movie ticket, or streamed song, every sensor-to-sensor ping. Nearly every time you make a purchase, physical or digital, there is an accompanying unique and nuanced tax compliance calculation.

Avalara is looking for Account Development Representatives (ADRs) to identify net new prospects and high value opportunities through outbound prospecting.

The function of an ADR serves as an important part of our sales process. This position is designed to provide the opportunity for skill progression and promotion into a full-cycle sales role and will be the beginning of your career with a growing SaaS company.
  • This is an Onsite role, based in Durham. All candidates must be based within 1 hour commute to Durham and will report into a Sales Manager.

What You'll Do
  • Every day you will create quality opportunities and schedule meetings for our sales teams by using leads/contacts or accounts provided by marketing by telephone, email, and other creative means.
  • You will become an expert on products and services to be sold and maintain relevant industry knowledge.
  • You will maintain active engagement with leads through scheduled follow-up communications designed to increase customer interest in Avalara products via data-driven processes
  • You will improve customer participation in webinars, certification events, and conferences.
  • You will achieve monthly quotas of qualified and sales accepted opportunities.
  • You will collaborate as a team member within the department and Avalara as a whole
  • This is an Onsite role, based in Durham. All candidates must be based within 1 hour commute to Durham and will report into a Sales Manager.

About the Team

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years SDR/ADR experience, or 2 years sales experience in another field with a desire to sell SAAS.
  • Bachelor's degree appreciated, but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), and Salesforce.com (CRM) and other Sales Development tools are plus'.
