About this role: The USGA has recently brought our Hospitality team in-house and is continuing to grow! We're looking for a dynamic and dedicated Account Executive to join our team. The Hospitality team is responsible for selling and servicing the U.S. Open Championship, U.S. Women's Open Championship, and on select years, the U.S. Senior Open Championship. This role will play a key role in the sales process, contribute to the design and development of hospitality packages, and support the management and on-site execution of our Championship events. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about the hospitality industry, eager to expand their sales expertise, and committed to delivering superior service. What you'll do:
  • Support the Assistant Director, Regional Partnerships & Hospitality and the Senior Manager, Hospitality in developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue goals. Help identify new business opportunities and target potential clients.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients. Respond to inquiries, address concerns, and provide information on services and promotions.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events, including site visits, contract negotiations, and finalizing details to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Help prepare and manage sales reports, track performance metrics, and assist with budget management.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns. Support in organizing and participating in networking events, and client meetings.
  • Assist with the on-site management of volunteers for USO and USWO. Create schedules and ensure that volunteers are effectively utilized and supported. Provide guidance and address any issues that arise with the volunteer team.
  • Partner closely with the Manager, Hospitality Sales & Service to ensure high standards of service delivery, handle guest feedback, and work to resolve any issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Partnerships, Operations, and Guest Services to ensure alignment of sales and service deliverables.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Sales team, including developing Powerpoint presentations, preparing detailed recaps, creating and maintaining timelines, and other tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations and seamless communication.
Where you'll be:
  • This role will be based at our Liberty Corner, NJ campus on a hybrid schedule. Employees are expected to spend 3 days per week working in the office, between Monday - Thursday. There is a travel component to this role - candidates should expect to travel for extended periods of time, i.e. for trips longer than one week, approximately 20% of time.
What you bring:
  • Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Marketing, or related field
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in sports marketing, events, or hospitality service - ideally in an agency, sports property, or corporate setting
  • Advanced proficiency in Powerpoint is a must
  • Prior work experience in golf events preferred
  • Prior work experience delivering premium hospitality and corporate experiences strongly preferred
  • Willingness to learn a web-based sales/service platform
  • Demonstrated ability to partner, communicate, and collaborate across multiple disciplines and organizational groups
  • Passionate problem solver mindset with experience working across multiple hospitality programs, with multiple stakeholders and planning cycles
  • Ability to establish, measure, and analyze results to drive program growth and improvement
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time (i.e. for periods longer than one week, up to 20% of time)
