Lockton is seeking an experienced property and casualty Account Executive for its growing Middle Market Practice. The individual will lead marketing, servicing, and strategic consulting efforts with prospective and current clients. Collaboration and a willingness to support your colleagues is imperative, as is an affection for building and nurturing internal and external relationships.



Core Responsibilities:

  • Offers expert coverage and risk management advice to assigned clients
    • Works closely with client to plan annual renewal strategy
    • Listens to client concerns, provide meaningful advice and agree on potential solutions
    • Initiates/leads renewal efforts, including market negotiations
    • Identifies and focuses relevant resources to improve Total Cost of Risk
    • Drives the performance of the entire client service team, ensuring superior outcomes for our clients
  • Develops and leads strategic consulting efforts
    • Understands the client’s overall business, operations, macroeconomic environment, risks, and financial tolerance to offer the most relevant advice, products and service
    • Thinks critically and proactively discusses relevant risk finance solutions with assigned clients
  • Elevates and ensures consistency of work product
  • Builds and maintains carrier relationships necessary to drive outcomes or resolve issues
  • Works with Producers to develop and secure new business opportunities
  • Leads cross functional teams on RFP and new business efforts
  • Deepens relationships with existing clients, at all levels
  • Provides visible leadership, both internally and externally; mentors and helps train less experienced Associates
  • Participates in perpetuating the Lockton Culture
  • Elevates and ensures consistency of work product
    • Contributes to a positive, respectful work environment
    • Retains flexible, creative approach to solving client issues


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA, CPCU preferred
  • A minimum of 8+ years of progressive property and casualty brokerage/consulting experience
  • Marketing experience and a significant network of market relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of property, primary/excess liability, workers' compensation, and auto liability
  • Familiar with full spectrum of casualty rating plans and alternative risk products, including group captives
  • Current P&C insurance license or ability to obtain immediately
  • Exceptional oral/written communication skills; superior negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving/client service skills-must be able to grasp broad business concepts, research complex issues and develop strategies linked to corporate objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to instill confidence in clients and team
  • Ability to provide clear direction and act as leader of account team
  • Professional/polished presence to represent Lockton in the highest professional manner
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and to stay for more than one day and night; ability to travel on short notice
