Under the direct supervision of the Blind Field Services (BFS), Operations Manager, Staff Services Manager I, within the Specialized Services Division, and working cooperatively with program unit team members and supervisors throughout the District, the Accountant I-Specialist (AI-S) performs the more difficult semi-professional accounting work for the unit. The AI-S is responsible for understanding and applying Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) policies and procedures for all district fiscal/accounting-related areas, including auditing, approving, posting, and dispute resolution of all district administrative and consumer purchases; recording, tracking, and reconciling District's expenditures, budgets, and reports. The AI-S communicates with vendors to facilitate timely invoicing and payment for administrative and consumer goods and services; the provision of fiscal-accounting technical support and guidance to district staff; contacts applicable Central Office sections for guidance to resolve invoice payment and related fiscal/accounting issues; reviews and interprets policies and procedures to correctly process vendor invoices, purchase orders, service orders, Cal Card statements, Concur travel, etc. for compliance with State Administrative Manual, Rehabilitation Administrative Manual, Cal Card Program Regulations, Prompt Payment Act and miscellaneous requirements of State Control agencies.
