Are you an accounting professional with a passion for wildlife conservation? Consider joining the Accounting team as we support the programs carrying out the mission of the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Branch Chief (Accounting Administrator II) for the Accounting Services Branch (ASB), the incumbent plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the operations and accounting activities in the General Ledger unit for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW).
Reviews monthly funds and appropriations reconciliation. Reviews plan of financial adjustment to make sure there is enough cash flow to meet operations and accounting activities. Reviews year-end financial statements to submit to the State Controller's Office (SCO) by the due date. Provides training to staff on year-end financial statements and monthly fund reconciliations.
Headquartered in our new high-rise building located in downtown Sacramento, this position has the opportunity of being eligible for remote centered hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California.
The new Natural Resources Building is right next to Light Rail for an easy commute and features ergonomic furniture, panoramic downtown views, a free employee gym, a cafeteria and bodega, and adjacent childcare.
In order to be eligible for this position, you must either be transfer eligible or take and pass the following exam:
