Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department, is accepting applications for at least 1 Permanent/Full time appointment to the Accounting Administrator I classification, in the Fiscal Services, Accounting Unit. The Accounting Administrator I, Supervisor is under the general supervision of the Fiscal Officer and has full management and supervisory responsibility over sections within the Accounting Department. May consider a Staff Services Manager I.

The Accounting Administrator I, Supervisor (AAI) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the operations of the Accounts Receivable, Cashiering, and Fringe Benefits/Travel sections. The AAI ensures procedures and staff responsibilities are compliant with the requirements set forth by federal, state and local regulatory agencies. The AAI ensures enforcement of internal controls in regards to the safeguarding of assets as stipulated by Department of finance (DOF), State Controller's Office (SCO) and the State Administrative Manual (SAM). In coordination with Department of State Hospitals - Sacramento Accounting Branch, the AAI completes the month end close and year close processes.

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with the Financial Information System for California (Fi$cal), California Automated Travel Expense Reimbursement System (CalATERS), month-end and year-end processes, the State Controller's Remitting process and Cal Human Resources rules and regulations regarding Fringe Benefit Administration. The candidate should be familiar with Monarch and development of Monarch models as well as Microsoft Excel, and the customization of financial reports. Additionally, the successful candidate must be flexible, dependable, and highly motivated, possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, exercise tact and good judgment when interacting with the public and departmental employees, maintain confidentiality at all times, willingness to work under demanding situations, work independently in identifying the need for and implementing changes in systems and services.

Working Conditions

Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
