Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II, Accounting Section, the Accounting Administrator I (AA I) (Supervisor) is responsible for managing, planning, directing, and controlling the activities of professional and technical staff in the Securities Analysis Unit (SAU). This unit is responsible for accounting duties related to the maintenance and administration of securities escheated to the State Controller's Office (SCO), Unclaimed Property Division (UPD). These duties include securities portfolio reconciliation and management, assisting with security claim payments, and resolving system conversion issues and alerts.

Note on Telework: This position will be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on the State Controller's Office's current telework policy. While the State Controller's Office supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises, as determined by the Department.

  • Knowledge of the organization and functions of the State Controller's Office and California State Government.

  • Organized in managing work and meeting deadlines, with a bility to manage multiple priorities requiring quick turnaround times.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, research, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
