Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator II (Supervisor), the Accounting Administrator I (Specialist) works independently and is responsible for performing highly complex professional accounting duties related to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) funds. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) in the General Ledger Unit performing the duties which include but not limited to; maintaining accounting records, handles the most complex and challenging funds, preparing all types of accounts and records of financial transactions, preparing the year-end financial statements, various SCO Year-End Financial Reports for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and special projects or assignments. Act as lead person performing research, assistance, guide, and resolve the most complex and challenging accounting activities.

Working Conditions
Ability to use a computer keyboard several hours a day. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods. Standard office environment, consistent with office work, daily use of personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone. This position works with staff statewide to complete work assignments. Attend meetings and hearings.
Time off may not be granted during the year-end Financial Statement period.
Hybrid telework schedule.
This position qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness Accrual Credit .
