The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching, research and service. The individual will develop and teach courses in AIS but other areas of teaching specialization will also be considered. Teaching in LSBE's graduate (MBA) program is also possible. Currently, the teaching load is five sections (15 credits) per academic year. The candidate will be expected to conduct accounting research, and disseminate the results through refereed journals and other outlets. The individual will be responsible for advising undergraduate students and working with student organizations and is expected to engage in service activities with the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations. Rank: Assistant Professor if the candidate has a PhD or DBA in hand; Instructor otherwise.

Salary Range: $132,000 - $138,000

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Master's degree with ABD status. from a doctoral program in Accounting, or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, from an AACSB-International accredited school or major internationally recognized university. No more than 25% of the credits for the degree can be on-line. If the candidate is ABD for more than two years, there must be evidence of, at minimum, manuscript submissions to a refereed accounting-related journal. Evidence of potential for scholarship is essential, as is the demonstrated commitment to developing a research agenda in accounting. Demonstrated teaching experience (graduate assistant or corporate training experience acceptable) and demonstrated written communication skills appropriate to a faculty position are also essential. Applicant must have Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with a earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Accounting, or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Business Administration, from an AACSB-International accredited school or major internationally recognized university. The preferred candidate would also have a documented research record of published articles in refereed accounting-related journals. Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other relevant certifications, and professional experience in the accounting industry relevant to the courses to be taught are also preferred. Other preferred qualifications include: previous experience teaching accounting courses at the undergraduate level; demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching methods in a diverse classroom; demonstrated evidence of oral communication skills appropriate to a faculty position; demonstrated evidence of the use of technology in the classroom; evidence of fulfilling service responsibilities/expectations to the department, School, campus, community and professional organizations; capability to advise and work with students and student organizations.
