Job Summary

The Department of Budget and Resource Planning is seeking an Accounting Clerk II to join their team. This position serves as liaison between vendors, bank, etc., promotes efficiency and sustainability initiatives towards paperless processes, makes standard calculations to accurately compile and report statistics, analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness and mathematical accuracy of account documents ad makes adjustments. Additionally, prepares basic to intermediate monthly and annual reconciliation of ledger accounts and other accounts as assigned to department. prepares, produces, balances, and posts financial department data. posts completed account information to verify accounts are balanced, and resolves discrepancies in departmental data, both written and verbal. May monitor grant budgets for allowable expenditures and resolve all discrepancies. This role requires proficiency with Excel and experience with accounts payable/receivables or bookkeeping.

Experience and Education

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years related experience.
Job Duties
  • Provides working supervision to Accounting Clerks.
  • Prepares monthly and annual reconciliation of ledger accounts and other accounts as assigned to department.
  • Prepares, produces, balances, and posts financial department data. Posts completed account information to verify accounts are balanced.
  • Resolves discrepancies with departments, both written and verbal, regarding discrepancies in departmental data.
  • Establishes new accounts for income received from private grants.
  • May monitor grant budgets for allowable expenditures and resolve all discrepancies.
  • May produce financial reports for management regarding standing on individual accounts in addition to overall departmental financial status.
  • Performs duties of supervisor in their absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
