Aqua-Chem is looking for apart-time Accounting Clerk who has the education, skills, and ability to perform accounting, audit, and sales tax related assignments under the direction of the Sr. Controller.

Schedule: Part-Time schedule (up to 32 hours/week) during the working hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: On-site; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: $20.00-25.00/hr; Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties

• Assisting with accounting, audit, or sales tax tasks as assigned
• Set up Sales tax rates by customer profile in company ERP system(s)
• Support accounts receivable and payable as needed.
• Analyze accounts payable and receivable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Communicate with vendors and customers as needed to investigate and resolve discrepancies in billings and payments.
• Maintain vendor files and reconcile on a monthly basis..
• Assist the department with month-end close processes..
• Obtain sales tax exemption certificates from the customer.
• Enter Fixed Assets and Depreciation rates in ERP system(s)
• Assist with Internal Control and Financial Audit tasks.
• Performing other accounting, audit, or tax duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by the department manager.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Organized with attention to detail, proactive, and a willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in accounts reconciliation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently as part of a team.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Experience

• Minimum of years (3) three years of Accounting Clerk Experience
• Accounting and Finance college courses.
• Tax accounting experience.
