Position Purpose

USL is looking for an Accounting Clerk to assist the Finance & Accounting Manager and Staff Accountant in the daily finance activities of the organization. We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to assist in a myriad of accounting activities including accounts payable maintenance, invoicing, accounts receivable processing and monitoring, bank balancing, as well as assisting in the monthly closings and financial statement preparation. This position will also include receptionist and other office assistant duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Process invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment.
  • Records revenue by verifying transaction information; computing charges and refunds; preparing and emailing invoices; identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
  • Accounts receivable collections performed by reminding delinquent accounts, notifying customers of insufficient payments.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information/ trends.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
  • Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
  • Reconciles banking activity daily.
  • Monitors Finance Inbox daily to ensure finance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
  • Maintains financial historical records by saving accounting documents.
  • Receptionist/office assistant responsibilities as needed.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications
  • 3+ years of work experience in the accounting/finance industry required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior receptionist/office assistant experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize your own work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Discretion in handling confidential materials a must.
  • Ability to grasp tasks/concepts quickly and eventually work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional atmosphere for team members, member clubs, clients, and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic are a must.
  • Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
  • Will average 35 - 40 hours per week.
  • Must have U.S. work authorization.

Typical USL HQ hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm ET. Evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel may be necessary based on business demands.
