Position Summary:

Assists in directing the organization's financial operations and administration. Assists the Controller in the preparation and review of budgets, financial planning, financial systems, and various other financial operating reports. May have the day-to-day responsibility of a department and performs duties personally or through subordinate supervisors

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinates including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting Staff. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supports major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies by overseeing general accounting policies, processes and activities
  • Reviews policies and processes and recommends modifications to existing corporate programs
  • In support of the Controller and/of Director of Finance, prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Manages the day-to-day preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification
  • Oversees accounts payable / receivable function
  • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities
  • Periodically, gathers financial information for upper management on the organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
  • Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions
  • Arranges for audits of company's accounts
  • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelors in Finance/Accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of management experience in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Design software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Manufacturing software and Database software

For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
