The Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) Accounting lead will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting and reporting of our legacy (PW4000 and PW2000) Fleet Management Program (FMP) contracts.

As the portfolio lead, they will partner across the organization, with the MCE Aftermarket Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and MCE Aftermarket Contracts teams, to account and evaluate the activity and overall economics on these aftermarket contracts.

This individual will be responsible for supplying critical information surrounding the revenue and cost recognized under these contracts with our Risk and Revenue Sharing partners (RRSP). Other opportunities may include collaborating with MCE Fleet Management and Sales on contract restructures.

This position interacts with the following departments: MCE Finance, MCE Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Fleet Management, Engine Centers, Sales, Spares Finance .

Systems Exposed To : SAP, Business Warehouse (BW), HFM, Microsoft Office Products (incl. Excel, PowerPoint), Blackline (ARMS), Fleet Care Portal, Collaboration Matrix, MCE accounting systems (SPIDRS, SPANAS, SPEACS) .

MCE is a $5B business, with the Aftermarket being a main driver. The RRSPs comprise 20%-30% of these programs. This role provides the opportunity for a wide-ranging set of experiences that require a strong set of analytical and technical skills, an ability to work cross-functionally, and the desire to continuously look for new and better ways to complete processes and add value to the organization .

Location: 400 Main Street, East Hartford, CT 06108 primarily remote work and would consider candidates residing outside CT .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounting activities for our MCE FMP contracts, including partner reporting packages, journal entries, account reconciliations and supplemental reporting.
  • Participate and collaborate with the MCE Aftermarket Contracts team and MCE. Aftermarket FP&A teams in ensuring the accuracy surrounding the accounting on this portfolio of contracts.
  • Assist in the monthly reconciliation of FMP sales and cost activity from subledger to general ledger.
  • Track deferred revenue activity by contract and by ESN.
  • Assist management with the review of current and newly executed FMP contracts and assessing the overall accounting conclusion.
  • Support management and the CE Restructuring team with transactions involving contract amendments and modifications.
  • Manage the reconciliation of consigned inventory for two critical airline customers
  • Overseeing and supporting the outsource invoicing teams.
  • Support management on adhoc requests.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of relevant experience OR advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • US citizenship required due to government contract.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate has required years of general experience in Accounting and Finance, preferably some of that time having been in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Experience in SAP, Business Warehouse (BW).
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Have demonstrated controls and process improvement experience.
