Responsibilities

This position serves as the University Business Administrators program site manager responsible for ensuring sound fiscal management and compliance within Seminole Productions. Serves as the financial departmental representative for Seminole Productions.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation and maintenance of the department's general ledgers (OMNI) for Seminole Productions. Compiles financial data and monitoring of fund balances of C&G, E&G, Auxiliaries, Foundation & Research Foundation. Ensures all procedures are fully documented and in compliance with University policies; assists with the monthly preparation of the financial statements as necessary.
  • Coordinates and oversees Accounts Payable, Procurement, Travel, and administrative and fiscal processes for Seminole Productions. Interprets Florida Statutes, State and University policies & procedures, and University Controller memorandums relating to human resources and finances. Provides leadership and direction of policy by reviewing, analyzing, developing, and implementing College of Communication and Information policies and procedures essential for sound and effective management within Seminole Productions.
  • Responsible for coordinating quarterly Management Council meetings between Seminole Productions, CCI Leadership, Office of the Provost, and FSU Athletics, including meeting scheduling, formulating agendas, producing meeting minutes, and facilitating as needed. Creates and presents financial reports and projections in pre-planning meetings and regularly distributes information to council members. Coordinates annual MOU, revisions, amendments, and other agreements as needed with council members and university departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the mutually agreed upon services, including financial and administrative reporting, are provided to Seminole Productions. Manages and maintains all routine reports and provides financial analysis to management regularly. Serves as the Seminole Productions back-up for SemPro time and leave approvals, and answers timesheet questions as needed.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities including strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups and/or individuals verbally or in writing.
