Job Summary: The Accounts Payable Analyst II plays a key role in Grady Hospital's finance department, contributing to financial analysis, reporting, and compliance efforts. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, this position involves more advanced accounts payable responsibilities and requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to support decision-making and financial planning.
  2. Reconciliation: Perform complex account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and accruals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  3. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, conducting audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  4. Process improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in accounting processes, streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency.
  5. Financial systems: Maintain and optimize financial systems and software, troubleshooting issues, and providing user support and training to ensure effective utilization.
  6. Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, procurement, and operations, to address accounting-related issues, resolve discrepancies, and support organizational goals.
  7. Audit support: Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, answering inquiries, and assisting in audit procedures as needed.
  8. Training and development: Stay updated on accounting standards, best practices, and industry trends through training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  9. Special projects: Lead or participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Accounting Manager or senior leadership, contributing to the achievement of departmental objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or 4-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, and other financial tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently.
