Job Summary:


As the USSSA Accounts Payable Accountant, you will oversee the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing payments and provide support for various accounting tasks. You will be directly responsible for the timely and appropriate recording and payment of all outgoing financial obligations and assist the team in other general accounting functions.

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Analyzes vendor invoices, corporate credit card charges, and employee expense reports for accuracy, approval, support, and eligibility for payment.
  • Creates weekly payment proposals for multiple entities and ensures correct payments are made promptly.
  • Monitors and reports on current bank balances in multiple entities and reconciles bank accounts.
  • Processes daily withdrawal requests through a custom platform.
  • Processes customer refunds as needed.
  • Develops guidelines and workflows to ensure proper invoice coding and approvals.
  • Issues purchase orders and ensures proper coding of purchases.
  • Performs vendor verifications, ensures proper paperwork has been received, and sets up new vendor accounts.
  • Prepares and files 1099s annually.
  • Contributes to a team environment with the Senior Accountant and Controller.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable functions.
  • Basic understanding of accruals and deferrals, and debits and credits.
  • Experience with Bill/Divvy is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with one year of recent accounting experience; OR Associate degree in accounting with three years of recent accounting experience.
  • Experience working on an accounting team of three or more people.
  • Experience in an accounts payable or staff accountant role.
