Description

The purpose of an ACE lead teacher is to provide instructional leadership within the classroom and school, guiding and mentoring other teachers to enhance their teaching practices. They ensure the curriculum and educational standards are implemented, fostering a collaborative and effective learning environment. Additionally, ACE lead teachers support student achievement by developing and monitoring instructional strategies that meet diverse student needs.

• Deliver direct instruction to identified grade level as the teacher of record for that designated content area, the learning space will be utilized for on-the-job observations for fellow teachers, providing them with opportunities to observe instructional practices firsthand and serve as a content area liaison

• Assist with providing on-campus professional development that is in alignment with the district and ACE priorities.

• Develop classroom rotations and assistance in collaboration with the campus administration that provide instructional support for identified grade levels/teachers.

• Serve as a facilitator in the on-campus professional learning community (PLC) time with assigned grade levels or content areas.

• Serve as the trainer of trainers for the specific content area representative and provide on-campus professional development for campus/region/district professional development if requested, as needed or as applicable for the content area.

• Provide model lessons, coaching, mentoring,and support for campus classroom teachers as identified by campus administration.

• Engage and/or facilitate in 4- 6 additional hours per week of professional development as required to perform and improve required skills in content and program areas as offered by ACE and/or Academic Services and as applicable to the position and/or content area.

• Work with campus administrative staff to identify individual teachers to develop a coaching cycle for specific instructional skill development and student academic progress for the identified content area.

• Serve to provide follow-up with identified teachers on specific feedback and assist/support with next steps.

• Review data for HB4545 tutoring requirements and assist with student progress and follow-up.

• Serve as a new teacher mentor program to ensure all new teachers on the campus have an experienced mentor teacher and information regarding the mentoring program with requirements, as applicable.

• Participate in monthly ACE leadership development training session

• Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders to cultivate a sense of belonging for both teachers and student

• Collaborate with assistant principal(s) and ILCs to create content specific exemplars, analyze student work, and improve instructional practices across content area

Qualifications

• Required Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university

• Required Valid Texas Teacher Certificate

• Required 3-5 years of Teaching experience

• Embody the ACE core values, mission and vision statement

• Demonstrated ability to work with multi-ethnic populations in an urban multicultural setting

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community, district staff member, parents, and the public

• Demonstrated technology skills to create interactive, engaging professional development, analyze data, and other duties that utilize technology tool

• Develop strategic intervention models that provide instructional support for student functioning below grade level in content and program area

• Depth of knowledge and ability to coordinate and facilitate content and/or grade level PLC

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with campus administrative staff and district departments.

• Demonstrated classroom effectiveness with a TEI rating of Proficient I or higher
