Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a skilled Advisory Consultant with extensive experience in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). This role involves providing enterprise-level support, enhancing service delivery, performing root cause analysis, and serving as an escalation point for complex issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AD DS architecture, including sites, subnets, replication, OU and group structure, and Group Policy Management. This position requires a proactive approach to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the directory services environment. Additionally, the correct candidate will need to be capable of performing this job in a ground-up/greenfield environment.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory infrastructure including sites, subnets, and site-to-site replication.
  • Design and implement Organizational Unit (OU) structures and group policies.
  • Handle user account creation processes and manage smart card/token authentication systems.
  • Provide enterprise-level support for Active Directory related global initiatives, ensuring successful implementation through collaboration with project and support teams.
  • Act as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, providing guidance in resolving escalated issues and complex production, application, or system problems.
  • Perform daily system monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Review system and application logs and verify the completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party software utilities according to company operational guidelines.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to innovate, extend, and enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and problem management for directory services, improving existing processes through recurring problem solutions and documentation enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Extensive experience with Active Directory Domain Services, including sites, subnets, site-to-site replication, OU structure, and group policies.
  • Proficient in user account creation processes and smart card/token authentication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and problem management in a directory services environment.
  • Experience with system monitoring, hardware, server resource management, and application log review.
  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party software utilities.
  • Excellent documentation skills for system technologies and troubleshooting steps.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities for service delivery improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Capable of performing the job in a ground-up/greenfield environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of experience in Active Directory administration and support roles.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate) are a plus.
  • In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate range for this role is $60.00 to $80.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
