As a member of our high-performance actuarial team, you'll help support UnitedHealth Group's growth and financial goals and while you help shape our future. As an Actuarial Analyst, ALDP for Employer & Individual, you will be empowered, supported, and encouraged to use your actuarial expertise as you perform monthly reporting and update reserve methods that improve health plan competitiveness. You'll find an accelerated actuarial development path to support you in your continuing post-graduate education and certification.

Preferred location is Fort Worth, TX but candidates who would telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. will also be considered.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of the monthly reporting of the claim reserves for all USHG companies and products
  • Updating reserve methods and processes
  • Maintaining required documentation and support
  • Assist in the development of financial estimates and projections
  • Special projects involving experience analysis, data warehouse, regulatory filings, and other projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related technical field from an accredited college/university
  • Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed 1 or more Actuarial exams
  • 1+ years of Actuarial experience
  • Advanced or higher proficiency in MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in finance or the health care industry
  • Basic level of proficiency with VBA, SQL (Structured Query Language), and/or SAS (Statistical Analysis System)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
