Position Summary

The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center seeks a highly motivated full-time ACNP/AGACNP to work in the cardiothoracic ICU. Our unit is a 10-bed, closed ICU staffed by ACNPs/AGACNPs working in close collaboration with anesthesiology/critical care Attends to provide cutting-edge medical care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients following coronary revascularization, valvular surgery, aortic reconstruction surgery, minimally invasive surgery, congenital heart surgery, heart/lung transplantation and ventricular assist device placement.
  • Perform bedside procedures within the scope of service
  • Participate in unit-based and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have MS in Nursing with 4 years of nursing-related experience
  • Must have ACNP or AGACNP board certification or be eligible for and have NYS licensure
  • Must have excellent communication skills, an innovative attitude and follow evidence-based practice while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team
  • All other duties as assigned
