Job Overview: We are seeking an Addiction and Recovery Counselor to join our Mental Health Court Case Coordination program. This role involves providing substance use disorder (SUD) services, including assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, for adults with severe mental illnesses and criminal justice involvement. The position emphasizes trauma-informed care and collaborative treatment to support clients in achieving their goals and reducing recidivism.

Essential Duties:
  • Conduct Alcohol and Drug Assessments and develop relapse prevention plans.
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices (CBT, Motivational Interviewing).
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources for comprehensive client care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions, and training.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field or three years of relevant professional experience. Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) credentials required.
  • CADC-R and Associate's degree or certificate in Addictions programming, OR CADCI, or CADCII.


Skills: Effective communication, active listening, and strong interpersonal skills.

Other: Valid driver's license and able to pass DMV check, ability to travel in the Portland Metro area, and ability to perform Basic Life Support (BLS). Ability to pass DHS and DCJ background check.
