Position Summary:
The College of Professional Studies ( CPS ) invites qualified individuals to apply for an Adjunct Faculty position to develop and teach a course in a fully online certificate program in Learning Design and Technology launching in Summer 2021. We are specifically seeking someone with expertise aligned with a course on Assessment and Evaluation of online course design. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise learning solutions in a variety of different professional settings. They will bring knowledge and skills related to various evaluation models, principles, and practices used to determine if an online course is effectively meeting its stated learning goals. They will collaborate with other faculty as needed to align course and program learning objectives and outcomes. The Assessment and Evaluation course will be offered for the first time January 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop learning goals and objectives
  • Select readings and other course materials
  • Record videos
  • Develop assessments including quizzes, exams, discussion board posts, writing assignments and projects
  • Create detailed course development document that the learning experience designer can use to build the course in the LMS
  • Create syllabus
  • Create facilitator guide for future instructors with sample activities
  • Participate in regular meetings with CPS staff
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design or related field.
  • Experience developing and teaching online courses.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and theories.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specific knowledge of Blackboard, Canvas, and instructional design tools as well as web conferencing platforms.
  • Experience recording video and/or audio content for online courses
